La Calata, historic restaurant with fish specialities in Lerici
The La Calata restaurant, located at Via Mazzini 4 in Lerici, province of La Spezia, is a historic venue that has been open since 1883. Initially a place of rest for fishermen, it is one of the oldest trattorias in Liguria and still retains the charm of a century-old history, thanks to its enchanting location overlooking one of the most beautiful seas in Italy.
From the 1960s to the early 1990s, our restaurant was a gathering place and source of inspiration for writers and poets who stayed in and passed through the beautiful seaside village. Today, we carry on the founders’ tradition, with the authenticity of products and ancient Ligurian Spezzina recipes, preparing dishes based on the freshest local fish with a touch of unexpected modernity.
The restaurant enjoys a privileged location, in the main square of the marina in one of Italy’s most beautiful views, between the lapping of anchored boats and beneath the beautiful castle framing the picturesque small bay of Lerici. It’s a great starting point for an excursion to Portovenere and the Cinque Terre.
